Perfect Soft Boiled Egg

I absolutely love a nice jammy soft boiled egg, and if you’re partial to a sunny side up egg then you will definitely like these too. Soft boiled eggs are slightly new to me, I just started eating and making them a few years ago because I was so used to only making over hard boiled eggs. I personally never really liked that dry chalky texture of a regular hard boiled egg, so I like soft boiled much better.

They make for an excellent add on to salads and avocado toast, but are completely perfect just by themselves. Jammy egg + a little kosher salt + a pinch of pepper = breakfast perfection

Tips: To ensure you have the right amount of water place an egg at the bottom of the saucepan and pour in enough water to cover the surface (just remember to take it out when you turn the heat on to bring the water to boil).

Make sure to have an ice bath ready to you can quickly place the cooked eggs in the cold water to stop the cooking process.

Cook Time: 7 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups of water

  • Organic eggs

Directions

  1. Fill a saucepan with enough water to cover the eggs by about an inch and bring to a boil.

  2. Gently place eggs in the boiling water (this will reduce the temperature to cool slightly) and bring it back up to a boil and cook for 7 minutes.

  3. While the eggs are cooking prepare the ice bath by filling a medium - large bowl (depending on how many eggs you’re cooking) with cold water and a few ice cubes.

  4. Remove the eggs from the boiling water and place eggs in ice bath to stop cooking.

  5. Once cooled, peel, and enjoy!
